Founded in 1988 on the Isle of Man, Dandara is the Housebuilding division of Dandara Group. It has been creating beautiful homes for over 30 years, providing our customers with an exceptional level of service all the way through the process. It’s part of the reason why we are one of the UK’s most respected private housebuilders, with our portfolio now stretching across the nation. The same applies to how we work with local communities to ensure our homes perfectly complement and enhance their surroundings. With a portfolio spanning the residential and commercial sectors, both for sale and rental, Dandara Group encompasses a broad range of property types. Dandara has developed and delivered over 12,000 homes, 1.7 million sq ft of commercial and retail space across the UK - winning more than 100 industry awards.

Dandara Living is the specialist build-to-rent division of Dandara Group, founded in 2016. Their growing portfolio includes more than 7,400 homes in 10 towns and cities across the UK. Dandara Living has won several prestigious awards over the past few years. These include What House 'Silver - Best Build to Rent Project 2021', Home Views 'The Best UK Development 2022', What House 'Best Build to Rent Project 2022' and RESI Awards 'Property Manager of the year 2023'. Dandara Living is not only in the business of designing spectacular apartment complexes but also managing them for our residents, ensuring that they receive first-class customer service. Dandara Living currently has 2,700 apartments under management, with an immediate development pipeline of a further 4,700 homes.

I am responsible for all immediate and strategic planning matters for the region and work closely with the Land team on site bids and acquisition. Dandara has doubled in size since I joined and I am proud to have played a key role in the growth and expansion into other areas. At times, planning can be extremely frustrating and high-pressure, but I am lucky to be surrounded by brilliant people across the business. “I joined the Dandara group as a Sustainability Manager in 2022, to be part of Dandara's brand-new centralised ESG & Sustainability team. I started out in sustainability as a consultant working with a global multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy in a variety of sectors, including real estate, construction, infrastructure and manufacturing. I then furthered my knowledge and skills in subsequent roles, building up a foundation of experience along the way, which has proven crucial in the progression of my career in the ever-evolving field of sustainability. None more so than in recent times, where developers have moved from viewing environment, social and governance (ESG) matters as primarily compliance issues, to recognising the opportunities for innovation, added value creation and market differentiation. I have found the same motivation at Dandara to tackle the collective ESG challenges of the built environment sector, such as Net Zero Carbon, biodiversity loss and social value. The most rewarding aspect of my role is the positive engagement and collaboration that I have seen across the Dandara group, which reflects how ESG plays a part in our day-to-day activities.”

Shortly after I was offered a role in HR with a Construction company, and I worked my way up to become Assistant HR Business Partner, going on to hold regional HR Business Partner roles with other House Builders where I learned many invaluable skills. I joined Dandara in December 2022 as HR Business Partner for UK Housebuilding currently partnering all six regions including office and site-based employees. Every day is different in HR and the variety keeps me on my toes! Since joining the business I have been made to feel extremely welcome and I am proud to be part of the Dandara team.”

"I joined Dandara Living as a Health and Safety Advisor in October 2021 nearly 3 years ago now, when I started out in my career Health & Safety was never even considered as a career path. However, this changed when I was working as a project lead and engineer for a small contractor on behalf of Network Rail and due to a change in the business, I was asked to undertake the H&S role.I have now been in the H&S environment for over 14 years and worked in a variety of industries. I have worked my way up to Head of Health & Safety at Dandara Living within the years I have been at Dandara and during that time I have implemented various health and safety procedures and processes and have provided support and initiatives to improve H&S across the Dandara Business. As anyone (even my wife) states, Health & Safety isn't always the most well-received department on-site, however my time at Dandara Living has been extremely positive and as a team I feel confident that we are making a significant difference and contribution to the business."

I then transferred over to a large developer as a Site manager on their biggest development in the region of over 800 units and was promoted to senior site manager and ultimately a project manager. Site management is a high pressured role but one I love. I am now a Construction Manager for Dandara’s South East region, working initially on the flagship development, 1887, and then overseeing all the sites in the region.”
