Dandara Living Developments

“I joined Dandara Living Developments in 2023 as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, having seen one of the build-to-rent developments in Bristol. I am currently studying my Quantity Surveying Technician HNC, which I'm really enjoying. I find that my time spent on site expands my knowledge of the industry and helps to bring context to my coursework. Once I complete this course I want to continue progressing through the company, up to the role of a Senior Quantity Surveyor and potentially experience the role in different places around the world.”

Dandara Living Developments

“I joined the Bristol branch of Dandara Living Developments as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor in 2023. I've found working and studying the best route for me and I'm enjoying balancing both. I'm undertaking a Quantity Surveying Technician HNC and I am really enjoying the course so far. I’m pleased that I opted for this format of gaining a qualification and working rather than going to university full time! My career goal would be to continue learning on the job and progress to a Senior Quantity Surveyor, or even start my own business within the industry.”

UK Housebuilding - Northern Home Counties

“I joined Dandara Northern Home Counties as a Trainee Sales Consultant after finishing my A-levels and began the one year sales management trainee programme. This consisted of quarterly reviews to monitor my knowledge and progress and a final assessment before becoming a fully qualified Sales Consultant. When I joined, my first experience working on site was at The Grove development in Haddenham, Buckinghamshire which is a fantastic community and a great place to begin my training due to it being a highly popular site for walk ins. Since then I have worked on different developments across the region, all allowing me to build my confidene and knowledge. A lot of trainee schemes don’t offer the same level of hands-on experience as Dandara does, so it’s been brilliant to have been given the opportunity to work on so many sites throughout the programme. Getting stuck in straight away has definitely helped me get up to speed quickly and expand my understanding of various regional markets. Since I was a child, I've always loved the idea of working in property,so I highly recommend this training programme to young people I looking to get into property! As I progress up this career ladder, I would love to become a Sales Manager or even branch out to different avenues such as marketing – with the support of my team, it feels like anything is possible!”

Dandara Living Developments

“I joined Dandara Living Developments as a BIM Trainee in September 2023, based in the build to rent head quarters in Altrincham. I am currently studying my BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology – Design and Construction Management Level 6, which is due to finish in June 2028. The course has proved incredibly interesting so far; I’ve had the opportunity to develop diverse design projects, prepare a Site Investigation report, and undertake an exam testing my knowledge of construction technology and strategies. Through these tasks, and my duties as a BIM Trainee, I have quickly developed a strong understanding of architectural technologies, construction programmes, and the RIBA stages. I’ve had a strong start to the apprenticeship, with university results reflecting my hard work, and impactful progression in the workplace. I look forward to developing my knowledge, skills, and behaviours in the coming years.”

UK Housebuilding - Southern

“I joined Dandara Southern as a Management Trainee Quantity Surveyor when I was 19, after completing A-levels in Economics, Business, and Geography. My early exposure to Dandara through work experience at 16 inspired me to join as soon as I had finished studying. I pursued a HNC in Quantity Surveying to build a strong theoretical foundation, and I am set to begin a degree programme in September 2024, which will be complete in June 2027. This educational journey has allowed me to apply classroom theory directly to my role, enhancing my practical understanding. The primary benefit of my apprenticeship is gaining real-world experience alongside academic learning, which helps within the workplace as well as in my studies. My future goal is to complete my degree whilst advancing in my role within Dandara, continually expanding my knowledge and contributing to the company's success.”
