“I joined Dandara in 2019 as a Planning Coordinator and have since been promoted to Planning Manager for Dandara Northern Home Counties. I am responsible for all immediate and strategic planning matters for the region and work closely with the Land team on site bids and acquisition. Dandara has doubled in size since I joined and I am proud to have played a key role in the growth and expansion into other areas. At times, planning can be extremely frustrating and high-pressure, but I am lucky to be surrounded by brilliant people across the business. The team dynamic here at Northern Home Counties has played a pivotal role in our success. I am proud of our achievements as a team and individually during my time here so far. I'm ready to face the next challenge!”
Read More“I joined the Dandara group as a Sustainability Manager in 2022, to be part of Dandara's brand-new centralised ESG & Sustainability team. I started out in sustainability as a consultant working with a global multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy in a variety of sectors, including real estate, construction, infrastructure and manufacturing. I then furthered my knowledge and skills in subsequent roles, building up a foundation of experience along the way, which has proven crucial in the progression of my career in the ever-evolving field of sustainability. None more so than in recent times, where developers have moved from viewing environment, social and governance (ESG) matters as primarily compliance issues, to recognising the opportunities for innovation, added value creation and market differentiation. I have found the same motivation at Dandara to tackle the collective ESG challenges of the built environment sector, such as Net Zero Carbon, biodiversity loss and social value. The most rewarding aspect of my role is the positive engagement and collaboration that I have seen across the Dandara group, which reflects how ESG plays a part in our day-to-day activities.”

Shortly after I was offered a role in HR with a Construction company, and I worked my way up to become Assistant HR Business Partner, going on to hold regional HR Business Partner roles with other House Builders where I learned many invaluable skills. I joined Dandara in December 2022 as HR Business Partner for UK Housebuilding currently partnering all six regions including office and site-based employees. Every day is different in HR and the variety keeps me on my toes! Since joining the business I have been made to feel extremely welcome and I am proud to be part of the Dandara team.”
Read More"I joined Dandara Living as a Health and Safety Advisor in October 2021 nearly 3 years ago now, when I started out in my career Health & Safety was never even considered as a career path. However, this changed when I was working as a project lead and engineer for a small contractor on behalf of Network Rail and due to a change in the business, I was asked to undertake the H&S role.I have now been in the H&S environment for over 14 years and worked in a variety of industries. I have worked my way up to Head of Health & Safety at Dandara Living within the years I have been at Dandara and during that time I have implemented various health and safety procedures and processes and have provided support and initiatives to improve H&S across the Dandara Business. As anyone (even my wife) states, Health & Safety isn't always the most well-received department on-site, however my time at Dandara Living has been extremely positive and as a team I feel confident that we are making a significant difference and contribution to the business."

I have always had a strong interest in build-to-rent and I was keen for a new challenge. Although I was not actively looking for a new position, when I was approached about this role and after my company research, I was immediately interested. From my very first conversation in my first interview with Dandara Living Management, I knew I wanted to be a part of the company and their culture - I was absolutely thrilled to be offered the role! From day 1, I have received a very warm welcome from everyone I have met, making the new job jitters a little less nerve-wracking. Joining Dandara Living has been by far the most positive and welcoming experience I have had in my working career to date. Often when you join a company, they are very set in their ways, but Dandara living Management has provided me with endless support, empowering me to bring my experience and ideas to the table. I am the General Manager for the newly launched Dandara Living development Granary Quay located in West end of Glasgow. With our riverside views and our beautiful social spaces - I am absolutely loving showcasing our amazing site, meeting our residents, and creating a strong resident service focused team. I am excited to grow my skillset and be a part of Dandara Livings future success as we grow as a business."

Dandara has always let me progress at the speed that I wanted to and I was running my own project within the first three years of joining the company. I have recently been given the opportunity to advance my career and step into a management role which has brought new challenges. This role can be very demanding but very rewarding, passing on the skills and knowledge I have to others. I know that Dandara will support me not only in any role that I may take in the future, but also if I want to complete my RICS professional chartership.”

Tasked with addressing fire stopping issues revealed after the Grenfell Tower disaster, our Legacy Team plays a crucial role in implementing the new Building Safety Act. This not only fills me with pride and responsibility but also provides a unique opportunity to specialise in fire safety.”

I then transferred over to a large developer as a Site manager on their biggest development in the region of over 800 units and was promoted to senior site manager and ultimately a project manager. Site management is a high pressured role but one I love. I am now a Construction Manager for Dandara’s South East region, working initially on the flagship development, 1887, and then overseeing all the sites in the region.”
