    Financial Accountant

    About Us

At Dandara, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We believe the best ideas come from collaboration, and we’re passionate about creating a workplace where innovation, integrity, employee voice and customer focus thrive. By joining us, you’ll be part of a forward-thinking team, driving meaningful change and helping to build vibrant communities.

    The role

We are seeking a qualified accountant to join our central reporting team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, providing cover during a planned period of absence. This is an excellent opportunity to gain broad, hands-on experience across management accounting, group reporting, statutory accounts, and audit within a multi-jurisdictional construction environment.

Operating across the UK, Isle of Man, and Jersey, you will take ownership of core management accounting cycles while supporting group consolidation, statutory reporting, and external audit coordination. The role offers exposure to complex projects, cross-border entities, and senior stakeholders—ideal for someone looking to add value quickly while further developing their technical and commercial expertise.

    What you will do

    Management Accounting

    • Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts across multiple entities
    • Analyse variances (budget vs actual) and provide meaningful insights
    • Perform intercompany reconciliations

    Ad-hoc Reporting & Analysis

    • Develop dashboards and bespoke reports for Finance Business Partners and senior leadership
    • Support reporting requirements including cash flow forecasting, covenant compliance, and KPI packs

    Statutory Reporting

    • Prepare annual financial statements for UK, Isle of Man, and Jersey entities

    Audit Coordination

    • Act as a key contact for external auditors
    • Prepare PBC (Provided by Client) schedules, respond to queries, and track audit progress
    • Support internal controls testing and remediation across jurisdictions

    Process & Controls Improvement

    • Contribute to financial period-end processes and controls
    • Support finance transformation initiatives, including rapid close and process optimisation

    What you will have

    • Newly qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA (first-time passes preferred)
    • 0–2 years’ post-qualified experience in audit, group reporting, or management accounting
    • Strong technical knowledge of FRS102 and UK GAAP
    • Exposure to construction or project-based accounting (e.g. WIP, percentage of completion) is desirable but not essential
    • Advanced Excel skills (including PivotTables, Power Query, and complex formulas)
    • Familiarity with data/BI tools and an interest in leveraging digital or AI tools to improve reporting efficiency
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and deliver actionable insights
    • Strong communication skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders and non-finance teams
    • Proactive and solutions-focused, with a strong sense of ownership
    • Adaptable and resilient, able to manage priorities across a fast-paced, multi-entity environment

This role is particularly well suited to a recently qualified accountant looking to build a well-rounded skill set across financial reporting in a complex, international environment.

    What’s in It for You?

We offer a competitive package, including:

    • Competitive base salary and benefits package in line with company policy.
    • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and option to buy/sell.
    • Private health care, life assurance and robust employee wellbeing programme.
